Norelco PT730 PowerTouch Rechargeable

This razor came in a plain white box, instead of the standard company packaging. Despite being a new model, it's very much similar to other Norelco razors long since released. In my humble opinion, Philips Norelco 7310 (also a basic model, but a little older) is better.

Pros
-For the money, you get the standard quality all Norelco razors offer, and if there's one thing that can be said about this product, it's the quality.
-Features such as cordless shaving, quick charging, comfortable precision based shaving, and an attractive design.

Cons
-In comparison to older basic models, particularly the 7310 model, this razor tends to get a little too loud during the shaving.
-The on/off button, which lights up in green in the 7310 model, is pretty much colorless in this model, blending into the blackness of the overall design, and making things a little boring (and too basic).

Overall, though, it's pretty much similar to other Norelco models. If, like me, you already purchased a Norelco razor in the past, you can get a little nitpicky with this model. If, on the other hand, this is your first Norelco razor, you are likely to be satisfied. When I requested this shaver for review through Vine, I thought Norelco/Philips had come up with a new mid-range shaver. However on comparing the specs, I find it is virtually identical to my Norelco 7340XL, down to the head. Both have the HQ8 heads.

If you are considering the purchase of an electric shaver, you cannot go wrong with this model. Irritation is minimized, and convenience is maximized as you do not need water, gel, etc. My personal experience has been that over the long run, the skin is irritated less by a rotary electric shaver. It also works out cheaper in the long run (> 1 year) compared to the usurious costs of razor blades these days.

Be forewarned that it takes some time for your beard to get used to electric. And you can't switch back and forth between blades and electric... just confuses them poor whiskers. I've also found that regular shaving is needed for best performance -- if you let your stubble grow out for a few days, the shaver won't catch all the hairs.

Compare this shaver with other Norelco/Philips models that use HQ8 heads, and buy the cheapest one. They're all very similar but for minor differences in appearance.
