Batteries never need changing; just be careful how you mount spout

We installed in 20 months ago (~April 2010), and I have not changed the batteries yet! I was afraid this would be a routine chore, but no, the unit is very energy efficient.

The touch feature has always worked perfect for us. The only issue with the faucet: the end of the spout does not point straight-down, towards the drain. Instead it points "out" or forward a little bit. You can see this if you look at the picture.

The result is that the water stream shoots towards the front wall/edge of the sink basin, not straight down. This can cause water to splash outside the sink when washing something. We didn't realize this and drilled the faucet holes in our new granite at a standard distance from the sink. But we should've drilled the holes a bit further back towards the backsplash.

To mitigate the issue, we basically just leave the hose-end dangling a little so the water stream goes straight down the drain hole, as it should. It's fine, but do wish the directions warned about the odd angle of the spout and recommended installing it further back. When the granite guys are in your house and decisions on where to drill holes needs to happen fast, a template of somesort (provided by Delta) would've been nice. We just had this installed last week and it is AMAZING! Pete, our handyman installed it so I can't say much about the installation process except that he didn't run into any issues and charged $80.00 to install it. We LOVE this faucet. the touch feature is perfect, especially for people like me who cook and bake and often have grungy hands. We had four holes cut in our granite so we purchased an extra soap dispenser that we use for lotion - looks great. Best of all, it works perfectly - as advertised. I feel bad for all those folks who had issues and was a bit hesitant but ours works perfectly and we are really glad we purchased this. It has modernized our kitchen more than any other feature. It is big but seems like the perfect size when we use it. Even our water pressure is better! We have been very pleased! We installed it about a week ago. The instructions were well-illustrated and easy-to-follow. The electric portion is DC, so you're okay during a power failure. Delta engineered this product very well. It's easy to control the amount of water flow...very soft to very full volume. Already, this has helped when our hands had food, cooking oil, dirt, and wet paint on them. No mess on the faucet or handle! And get the soap dispenser. It was an unexpected surprise.
