Is it wrong to love a piece of machinery so much?

This vacuum is great. The suction is so strong it feels like the Shark is self propelled. The first time I used the Shark I realized the dirt we had been living with that our Eurika with the Hepa filter had been leaving behind. It was gross. We have cats and a dog that share our home and I could not believe the amount of hair the Shark picked up. I had just used the Eurika the day before and when I vacuumed my house with the Shark I had to empty the canister 3 times because it was picking up so much. Did I mention how easy it was to empty as well. Our Eurika had a canister as well but it was a pain to take out the filter everytime you needed to empty it. With the removable canaster of the Shark, it makes it a snap to get from the baseboards to the vaulted ceilings without getting up and down off a ladder. In short... I LOVE MY SHARK NAVIGATOR LIFT AWAY and you will too. What other vacuum comes with a 5 year warranty? As the owner of a thriving maid service, I have used every vacuum known to man at my 100 plus client's homes. I own a total of 15 vacuums and have recently discovered the Shark Lift away. I furnish a backpack vacuum to my employees as well as an expensive vacuum-Riccar. My Riccar has been beaten to death and some are missing the handle because I bought the plastic version. Don't get me wrong, for the 350.00 it is a fantastic vacuum. When a vacuum is being used 24/7 one must take into consideration the wear and tear versus the cost of the vacuum. After noticing many of my (wealthy) clients had the shark vacuum, I decided that I would give it a try instead of my Riccar. OMG! the power was unbelievable and the convenience of switching it from carpet to hard wood was alot easier that bringing in 2 vacuums for the job. I have since purchased 4 Shark Lift-Off vacuums for the low price of 178.00 each. We use these vacuums for a minimum of 4 hours daily 5 days per week. I never thought that I would buy a vacuum from a "Target type store" and have something nice to say about it. Having the Shark vacuum makes the load lighter for my employees as they no longer have to carry in an upright as well as a backpack vacuum for the pet hair etc. If you are truly interested in getting the best deal for your dollar get the Shark. I have owned my business for over 7 years and this vacuum is the best "cheap vacuum" that I have used to date. By the way, Dyson vacuums are made in China and once the service agreement is up you have to pay a bundle to get it working again. Best of luck! Last time I bought a vacuum cleaner was almost 15 years ago. The vacuum technology certainly comes a long way. The noise control, airflow suction, waste collection and dust filtration are far better than it used to be. However, one thing remains badly needed to be improved is the ergonomics. The unit is TERRIBLE handling in my opinion. First of all, for some reason, I felt the power cord is always on my way while I am trying to vacuum the floor. I'm a right-handed person. When I hold the vacuum handle, because the power cord is on the right side of the unit, the cord has the tendency to trip me. Maybe it is good for a lefty. But, if it can be designed in such a way the cord coming out of back of the unit, it would be much easier to use.
Secondly, that piece of flexible tube is too stiff. When I was holding the canister on my left hand, and the handle on the right, it didn't take me too long to feel sore on my left hand because the tubing keeps pulling back the vacuum nozzle. If I leave the canister on the floor, it keeps toppling over because the stupid tubing is either too stiff or to short.
Last thing is the handle. I don't know if Shark had consulted an ergo engineer or knows anything about Human Engineering when their design team worked on this product. My wrist gets sore very quickly. If a guy feels sore by using a vacuum cleaner, I feel sorry for a lady!
In sum, overall speaking, this unit is good. I like the swivel head. It would be better it comes with a headlight though!
