Tools great for beginners, but probably not built to last

I'm starting my review before my first project for several reasons, but most important is that I think it will how future prospective buyers how I saw it initially, why I bought it, and how it served. This was an impulse purchase in addition to a dovetail jig and router I bought to make some simple speaker cabinets, shelves and similar basic furniture to organize my immediate living area. I have a significant handicap, an injured right leg that causes spine problems. I'm going to be building things to keep my possessions within reach without being forced out of my ergonomic chair more than I have to. I'm also building some boxes that will help keep my physical therapy materials tidy, so this product may be the foundation for a project that can really help things improve for me.

I've done some amateur projects in the past, and I enjoy working with wood. Getting seated properly is always key. I built some electric guitar parts, and hope to build a neck some day to finish an instrument. I built several carved guitar tops from book-matched wood, and I enjoyed using the carving tools, I forget what they are called, but they come in various shapes, from rectangles to special curved cards all from sheets of metal, then sharpened with a burr that shaves the wood. They might be called card shavers, or something like that.

Anyway, I purchased the Porter Cable 4216 dovetail jig, and the recommended router to go with it. What I had planned was using dovetail joints on all of the seams, meaning I would be able to get the projects done with fewer specialty tools than I might otherwise need. I would have purchased shelving material, maybe 12" or so to build the sides and shelves. I knew it would be a lot of work.

When I saw the Kreg system, I wondered how I missed it before? This seems like an amazing system for people who want to build their own furniture or similar projects, and this leave the dovetail joints for only certain cosmetic seams while the Kreg joints will I hope keep the projects going when I run out of my own steam. I'll just have to pace myself, but I am not too fearful about getting through.

I watched some of the videos, and the only concern I have now is the building materials, because the angles need to be very precise. I guess that would be true no matter what tools I use, but I'm not sure whether I should get a disk sanding station like this; [...] that would allow me to buy sheets of material, or even if I buy 12" wide stock, is this something advisable, or even required when I can't find perfectly square materials?
