It's the faucet from the future... troubleshooting hints

Occasionally it will not work. Tap the faucet or handle, the blue light turns on, no water comes out. After several tape it will eventually work.
We're on the 2nd set of batteries - pretty good for lots of use.
The automatic 4 minute shut-off is really handy.

The velcro included to attach the batteries - it stinks. The adhesive failed after 4 months. This is a BIG problem. If the wires are loose, the faucet will malfunction. Not a loose connection - just extra wire hanging under the sink. Pull the faucet head out and the wires get jiggled by the hose, the faucet will turn on and off randomly. The wires need to be attached tightly and out of the way. I wound up putting the battery pack on a little shelf and using tie-straps to secure the wires to the plumbing - with rubber spacers.

If you find that tapping the faucet does not seem to work - move the wires. The wires can't touch anything metal - pipes, etc. - or the faucet will not work. This is the first review of the many products I have purchased over the internet that I have submitted. The reason is that I am extremely impressed with the the mechanics of the Touch 2O technology and the appearance of the Pilar faucet. A mere touch anywhere on the faucet will turn the water flow on or off. It's even quite entertaining and makes washing dishes ALMOST pleasant. The directions were clear which made installation by a non-plumber rather easy. In fact, my wife was impressed that my language was quite presentable throughout the entire process. In addition, Delta provides a video on their web site, albeit slightly outdated, which can be very helpful. On the other hand, the removal of the old Moen faucet necessitated my wife to insert ear plugs. Shipping was quick and packaging was excellent. The reason I gave the product 4 instead of 5 stars is that we have only owned it for approximate one month and that additional star will have to wait a bit to determine it's trouble free longevity. If my wife wrote this review, the Pilar faucet would have been given the fifth star. I was so excited about this faucet...it was one of the first things I ordered in our kitchen remodel. However, after 2 weeks, the jury's still out. It's just too sensitive. It just goes on and off when you're washing your hands (if they're too close) or washing dishes, which is extremely annoying. The most annoying, though, is when you grab the spout to spray off your dishes, and it goes off. Then it'll go back on and off, repeatedly, for several times.
