best vac so far-argh! for acces. & customer service

Always looking for good vacuum as it is used almost daily. Good vacuum-good scution, light weight, ease of use/emptying bag/cannister, mobility, useful accessories. This vac has been GREAT so far in all but accessories. The 24 inch crervice tool is the only wand type tool and nothing fits at the end. I want to get into corners, dust etc and without any type of wand to attach the brush it is tough. You must put it right on the handle which you hold in your hand and you are BENDING TO GET BEHIND WHERE YOU WANT TO DUST. I called customer service, (in India) and we sounded like an Abbott and Costell bit, "What part do you want to order? I don't see a part, I want to know if you HAVE a part. Well, what is the part you want to order? I DO NOT SEE A PART AVAILABLE TO ORDER! Well, do you have your book with you? YES AND THERE IS NO ACCESSORY LISTED FOR MY NEEDS." Anyway this is how it went. Bottom line there is no generic wand. So I still need another vacuum to get a wand to dust the hard to reach areas on floors and surfaces without going behind toilets, tvs, computers, etc. I used ths product today to clean a back porch I keep for my cats. With this cleaner it took only 1-2 hours to do the work that would normally have taken me most of the day to do, and the porch is cleaner that it has been in a long, long time! I collected so much car hair, dust and cobwebs (off stucco plaster and cat trees) I had to empty the dust cup 3 times.

I would have given this product 5 stars but for a few issues. First it works great, the best vacuum I've ever purchased. Here are the issues. 1) the accessory holder did not include a "Quick Cord Release" as the Owner's Guide related so I have no place to store the cord. 2) the extension wand does not look like the one in the Owners Guide and therefore does not click into place as noted it should (but the vacuum does work correctly; not sure if this slide in vs click in issue will cause future problems). 3) the hose, as others have noted, is too tight/short to use comfortably in high places with the detachable canister. 4) the cord is too short to cover some room areas. 5) the bottom swivel of the hose needs to have a way to secure it facing upward when using the detachable canister (helps with the hose length issue).

However, to make this product fantastic it needs to come with a way to strap the canister to your back for easy movement. I solved this by taking an old backback, cut out a square hole in the right place for heat release, and then placed the detachable canister into the backpack. With the canister in the backpack, cleaning all the non-floor items became a breeze! It was light enough not to feel heavy carrying it around on my back, the short hose was no longer a problem; I didn't have to hold the canister so I had both hands free to clean, climb and move items; and the attachments could all fit into side pockets of the backpack so I had them with me when I needed them.
