Great reasonable replacement for Sanyo Bravio

The Sony Bravia speakers are very tinny and weak. This is an economical replacement for a TV with less than desirable sound.

The Good:
Hooked right up to the TV's HDMI control with no programming necessary.
HDMI control turns the power on and off as well as controls the sound volume with the TV.
Sound quality is decent.
Good for a bedroom or smaller room.

The Not so good:
Does not have a great tone control.
The bass sound is decent, not spectacular.

The bottom line for me - The sound bar is a good sound bar for not a large investment. This is will not have the same sound as a $200 or $300+ bar. I really liked the ease of installation. The digital optical cable is the only cable necessary to get sound. Using an additional HDMI cable along with the optical cable enables the TV control. I bought this because I originally had a home theatre system with wires all over the place. My cat loved chewing on those speaker wires. I live in a small apartment so this was just perfect. Sound is great (make sure you have digital fibre optic toslink output on your TV). I have a Panasonic Plasma early generation 37", it's not ARC, but it's HDMI AV compatible but I turned off the link and I use a harmony remote to control TV volume and Sound bar volume. Only thing I don't like is that the volume would've been nice if there was a min. max bar so you know how much further you are to the maximum or minium. Same thing with Subwoofer speaker. Sound is great, using Cable Set top box, PS3, Xbox, and Apple TV I use an HDMI switcher inputted into the Soundbar. If you have a small apartment and good TV Stand this fits nicely. I don't need the IR blaster cuz it doesn't cover the IR on my Plasma TV. I recommend this if you have a Panasonic TV or any other TV with Digital Output and have a harmony remote to control volumes independently. Instructions for set up and connecting to existing Televison other than Panasonic were very difficult to understand and it was just by chance that I tried what eventially worked, HD cable from Cable box to speaker, then HD cable from speaker to TV. Requires remote from cable and remote from speaker system to work properly.
Once set up, there was noticible difference of sound quality from the TV speakers to the sound bar, with plenty of base from the instaled sub woofer. Sound qaulity improved tremendously but still lacks the true surround sound I was hoping for without the cords and cables for remote speakers.
