First off, this is the BEST body grooming device out there today. If you want to be smooth wherever or just some touching up, this is the gadget for the job. Far less irritation than manual or other electric razors. I've had my Bodygroom since it first launched years ago and have been upgrading as Norelco improves the product. The pivot head is great because it better follows the contours of your body and is especially handy in the groin (be careful down there!).

In my experience, shaving wet increases the friction and doesn't allow the blades to cut as close to the skin. If you want a shave that's as close as a manual razor would be, minus the irritation, use baby powder (made of cornstarch, not talc). Sprinkle the powder over the area you're going to shave first, then gently rub it in so the powder covers the whole area evenly. This will create a smooth, dry shaving surface so the blades can cut close but will lessen the risk of nicking the skin. It will also help clean out the hair from the razor head by absorbing any skin oil/moisture and thus the hair can just be blown/brushed out easily for cleanup.

Make sure to replace blades roughly every six months or whenever they become dull (you'll notice you have to push harder and sweep over areas more frequently with dull blades, and will tend to get more nicks).

Use small, gentle, 1-2" strokes for areas of dense hair, and broader strokes for just a light dusting of hair. Do this before you shower so you can hop in under the spray after shaving and rinse off any remaining powder. However, if you're on the go fast you can simply brush a towel gently across the area and that'll get rid of the excess powder, too. Using powder will also reduce friction between your clothes and shaving areas, so this is particularly good for athletic folks or anyone who wears tight clothes. I was in need of a body hair trimmer since I was fed up with using an old beard trimmer and wanted to thin out the thicket of body hair my Jewish and Italian ancestors had passed down. I was intrigued by this product because of the dual heads, being able to switch from trimming to the foil shaver with a press of a button is amazingly convenient. At first I thought the handle to be cumbersome but after using the product it actually is an advantage having the large handle because it helps to reach those odd and hard to reach areas of your body. (think back of you legs, butt and back) It is also waterproof making clean up easy, especially for me since using it in the shower means not having to lay out towels on the floor and sink top to catch all the falling hair. Both heads detach to clean out any hair that might have gotten stuck. The battery life is more then sufficient for an entire body use (~35mins fully charged). All in all this is exactly what I needed in the most convenient and effective design. I've had mine for 2months now and assuming it doesn't crap out on me I can't find a single flaw.
