Watch Box for 20 Watches Black Matte Finish Sale 2012

I have been researching watch boxes for the past 6 months or so--my boyfriend has quite a collection, and I thought this would be a very nice gift for Christmas. I came to the conclusion that this was the right watch box to get--it's a reasonable price for a 20-watch holder, looks very handsome, and it had an extra tall lid, so the watch faces would not rub against the glass. Of course, when I got the box, I made sure to test that extra tall lid out, and it was true to the description. The watch did not touch the glass at all. The watch pillows are nicely made, and seem to hold up well. Overall, very pleased! Watches are expensive (the sort you bother getting a box for, anyway). There's a lot of watch boxes out there, and a lot of them suck. I didn't know much about this one, but another watchuseek forum member rated it pretty highly (which I found out after I purchased it), and they were right. It looks good, stores a great amount of watches, big enough for 40mm+ diameter watches, has a window (good for those Citizen Eco-drive watches that need a bit of light every now and then). Only thing missing is a small accessory drawer for watch straps, pins and the like. I just use one of the bottom watch compartments for that, works well enough. Top window has plenty of clearance for larger watches as well. Never going to store my watches in a pile on my nightstand again. Never going to have a problem finding my watches either! For the money, you can't find a better intersection of price:utility:good looks.

Only niggling issue I have is that I ordered the black box and received the burl one. As it turns out, the burl one is very, very nice looking, so I didn't feel like sending it in for an exchange, but be careful. No need for a winded review here. This is a very nice watch box for around $60. I purchased the black and it's a nice enough matte finish. I use mine strictly as a watch box, not a decorative case. If this were going to be out in the open I'd probably choose something a bit nicer but mine is in the closet so I'm not too concerned. The pillows are nice and the compartments are big enough. I don't have any watches much over 40mm but this could easily accomodate those large tacky watches many men wear these days. All in all a good purchase. I'd give 5 stars but it cost nearly $20 to ship which is a ripoff.
