The RP3200 12-Volt Inflator and Worklight Deals 2012

I bought an almost identical model about 20 years ago (yes, twenty years!) and have used it to inflate my car tires and bicycle tires ever since. It finally died, so I figured I should just get the same one again. Compared to my previous model they have removed the flashing red emergency light and added the auto-shutoff, otherwise it's the same.

Pros:
- Runs fine off the cigarette lighter, doesn't blow fuses.
- Small, fits nicely in the tool tray under my trunk.

Cons:
- Slow to inflate, but that's why it doesn't blow fuses - the more powerful models need to be attached directly to the battery. The Campbell Hausfeld inflator worked well the first time it was called upon. It was used to inflate 4 tires on a double axle boat trailer after winter storage. The tires require 50 psi which was no problem for the Campbell Hausfeld unit. As with all portable inflators like this, it can take many minutes to add air to a semi inflated tire, so I appreciated the convenience of using the auto shutoff feature. Just set the dial to the target psi, and the inflator turns off when that pressure is reached. It is just a bit tricky to remove the hose connector from a tire stem, but with a bit of practice it can be done quickly enough to not lose pressure. The gauge on the Campbell Hausfeld seemed to read closely to my separate tire pressure gauge. The accessory power wire and pressure hose fit inside the storage cavity with out too much difficulty. (On my previous inflator unit, it was almost impossible to stow the wire and hose and still close the door.) The inside of the storage door provides clips for storing the inflator adapters. The unit seems reasonably well made.Got my compressor a couple weeks ago and so far it has been really good , I tried right away on my car and it only took a couple minutes to top up my tires to 35 psi , it took about 20 minutes to inflate a truck tire from flat to 60 psi so that is about its limit , no really bad since the tire was big and it was completely deflated , a little loud but I expected that , for the price you are getting a good deal anything better will cost 3 - 4 times more so this one is perfect for light use .

Someone mentioned problems with the connection to the tire valve and the first time I used it the connection was a little hard to push into the valve and the compressor would shut off immediately giving me a false reading on the pressure gauge , after close examination the inside of the connector seems to be a little rough , but after a few times putting it in and out of the valve the inside kinda molds to the valve and works fine , never had any more problems with it .
