The DC385B 18-Volt Cordless Reciprocating Saw Deals 2012

No, it does not come with the battery. It doesn't come with blades either. I guess many people are not familiar with the term "bare tool".

Anyway, this is a great complement to my cordless Dewalt drill, impact driver set. Good deal for about $80! I like how it can take in the blade upside down or sideways. It adds to the versitility of the demolition work. My cheapo Craftsman didn't have that feature.

Now I'm looking for more things to demolish!

I've been using this a lot with house remodel. Being cordless is great, no doubt. But it does come with power limitations. If you're planning on cutting through a lot of 2x4s, you'll run out of battery very quickly. So fast that having two batteries will not keep up with your work. It's not necessarily an indication of poor tool, I'm sure all the cordless recip saws are like that. Just letting y'all know that if you plan to do a lot of demo at one time, you may want to consider the corded versions. For occasional cutting this and that, cordless is so convenient. Hope this helps. This saw is great. I've use it mostly outdoors with a pruning blade to cut down small nuisance trees and bushes. It's also great for small stumps as you can get right down into the soil and not have to worry about ruining an expensive chainsaw blade. Also if you already have Dewalt tools that use the same battery it makes sense to buy this for use around the house or small jobs. Safety button keeps from accidently powering it on while carrying. I recommend this tool. These swzalls last me about two years of residential electrical work, which is a fantastic life span. Lots of power and easy to use. 1 star off for the common failures with age:1.They will burn out the battery contacts or trigger, or the plastic latch used to remove the blades will break, the later one is Dewalt cheeping out on their products.I will however continue to buy these sawzalls as all my batteries match and they are very reliable.
