These Headphone will change the way you hear it all

I have waited a good long time before attempting to review these behemoths. I love them, yet I hate them. Somewhat like an unplanned child the summer before you go to college. First, you need to decide if you are actually a musician, and will actually be using them for nothing but mixing. If your like me, you mix quite a bit, but also listen to a lot of music in your off time. You want a versatile headphone that will give you great response when in the studio, and be smooth an enjoyable when just listening to Scofield or Taylor Swift, pick your poison. These headphones are not it.

These monsters offer no hope for enjoying music. They isolate sound, strip the instruments down to their most basic form, and reveal every nitty gritty detail about how it was recorded. These headphones are like listening through the ears of Rick Rubin. In the studio, they are a god send. They allow you to pick apart every sound your making, alter it slightly, and tweak for an end result that is simply magnanimous. In the real world of simple music enjoyment, they will let you hear Dr. Dre whispering slight cues to Eminem, Stevie Nicks cough in between "Gypsy", and how much Bob Dylan truly enjoys recording on old wooden chairs that creak and groan. They will sound like crap on your MP3 player. I don't care how nice it is, or what type of external FIOS drive you have powering it, it will still sound like crap, and you will be begging for more volume. All of that music you torrent will all of a sudden become useless, as it's poor compression ratio will leave you hearing Norah Jones peak like crazy, rattling the phones to the point where you whip them off in disgust. These are headphones built for the purpose of deconstruction. Any other use of them will leave you feeling sad and very much alone.

They are durable, built well, and feel good sitting on top of your ear. They look like they mean business, and if your mixing on a bus or in public, people will not disturb you while wearing them. But heed this warning: there are plenty of people out there who do not mix, but prefer our headphones because it gives them the best experience. We love you guys and girls, because you quest after the little things we really do want you to hear. The slight nuances we put in for people like you. But these are not your headphones commercial buyer, these come straight from the devil himself to allow us mixers to hear how our environment has truly impacted our recordings. They allow us to densely layer, and refocus sound to minute amounts in any direction and depth. If that is what you are looking to do, purchase them immediately and start your journey. Anything less though, and you will have a 130 dollar hole in your heart.
