So Far So Good Bodygroom Pro Grooming System

Women prefer a little "manscaping" even if they don't tell you. This is the first razor or shaver that I have ever used that didn't either pinch, draw blood or leave a razor burn. I can use this shaver without fear of accidental castration. One end has the razor for closeness with a pretrimmer that will cut any longer hairs before they get to the razor. It works great. The other end has a trimmer with an adjustable guard for areas that you might want to leave with a little bit of length, up to about 1/2" in length. They say it can be used wet-or-dry, but I haven't tried it wet and probably won't.

I like to keep myself trim, and for years I've been using my old Remington beard trimmer to also trim my legs so that they don't look like a human forest. That Remington trimmer worked GREAT for years until it reached the end of its life. So, I did the research, and bought a separate beard trimmer (the Philips Norelco Qt4070), and a separate body groomer which was this one. I like the fact that it was an all-in-one device...didn't have a million attachments.

Big mistake.

Both the Norelco BG2040 body trimmer and the Norelco QT4070 beard trimmer have a serious design flaw: the comb setting doesn't lock. So, if you try using any setting longer than 1 (the shortest), and you apply normal pressure to your skin, the comb will get pushed back to the shortest setting. Now, I don't want to be completely hairless...I just want to keep my fur in check. So, I use the longer settings (4 or 5) on my lower legs, the medium setting (3) on my armpits and..err..pubic area, and the lower settings (1, 2) on my upper legs. However, this is a VERY difficult task to do when the damn comb doesn't lock. You have to hold it in place!!

As for the shaver side of it...it's okay. I never fully trust electric shavers anyways. When I want to mechanically shave something (like the back of my neck), I just remove the comb from the trimmer end, and use that side of it, and then I'll go over it again with the shaver side. The shaver side is only good for areas with very sparse hair.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I wanna say that this is an overpriced product, but then I'd be saying that it's worth buying at a lower price, which isn't true. This isn't worth your money at ANY price. DO NOT BUY. I found a refurbished version of my old Remington beard trimmer here on Amazon, and will buy that for both beard and body. Too bad I wasted so much money on this one.
