Just when you thought it doesn't get any better for this shaver

Before I give my review on this shaver, it's best to let everyone know that I'm a previous owner of the Braun Activator 8595. I've owned it for about 3 years and it gave a great shave. Of course nothing is close as a shave with a blade... Or maybe this is not true anymore?....

Some of the minor issues I had with the 8595 was that it wasn't quiet and the irritation it caused on my skin, especially the neck. Other than that, it was decent.

I decided I wanted to upgrade. Do I go with a Norelco or another Braun? The model Norelco I wanted was very expensive and for less money, I got the Braun Series 7-790cc, the best one Braun currently offers.

What do I have to say about it? I really think this shaver was really worth the upgrade! It's very stylish. The ergonomic handle is much better than the 8595. It runs VERY quiet, almost like a calming humming noise rather an irritating buzzing noise. And ONE major noticeable difference is that I no longer get skin irritation on my neck at all. Plus all of the trouble areas that I experience with an electric shaver (i.e. neck and cheeks) now gets a smooth shave from this razor. The screen and cutter do a great job of getting everything; NOT only to mention that my shave time is LESS compared to the 8595. I don't see myself going over the same area 2 to 3 times.

The self cleaning runs a lot quieter and more efficient. The new feature for a 20 second quick wash is great (rather than going through a whole clean and dry cycle). The new feature to adjust the closeness of the blade via the "+" and "-" buttons are a nice touch. The LED display on the end of the handle is a nice touch. It's easy to read. Another nice small improvement is the travel case. My old one was a very flimsy plastic case in which the hinge eventually broke. The 790 cc comes with an nice black durable zipper travel case.

Battery time is excellent. A typical daily shave of 4 to 6 minutes will yield about 2 1/2 weeks on a single charge!
