I purchased the Samsung UN32EH5000 32-Inch

I purchased the Samsung UN32EH5000 32-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV and am IMPRESSED! After UPS delivered the box with a big hole punched into the side of the box (behind the screen)-- I thought about my longboard that was similarly skewered at the Honolulu airport by the locals who handle the luggage (meant to discourage haoles they say). Shame on UPS. I checked and the hole was punched in the back area of the box during shipment, away from output panel and all the delicate stuff, fortunately. Anyway, being a former CRT owner, I didn't know what to expect.

The 32" screen was thinner than I expected and the whole set-up much lighter than some I saw at the local store. Set-up was relatively easy, but it took a while to dial-in the picture. I set the screen onto a swivel stand with my Bose center speaker and now both swivel. NOTE: Unless you are planning on buying a BlueRay DVD player, think twice about the 1080 resolution as my DVD player, even though it upscales the 720p native DVD to 1080p, is still not as sharp as if the screen rez were 720p as well....in other words, HDTV is extraordinary and when I get around to replacing my DVD player with a BLUE RAY, all will be sharp as a pinhead! Until then, my TV reception by cable (HD) is out of this world, but my DVD viewing isn't what it will be with a player that outputs actual 1080 rez images too. Proactively upgrading to 1080p can be a headache unless your input is also full HD & 1080p. I could've lived with a 720p machine but didn't see it except as a LCD which I wouldn't suggest owning. Samsung has come a long way in the past couple of decades, with quality manufacturing and advanced features. I have a HDMI cable connection (3 on board) and my DVD player upgrades and sound becomes DTS which is excellent. I don't play games or plug-in outboard devices into the set. A firmware upgrade from Samsung, downloaded to a stick and uploaded to the set via a USB plug-in went like clockwork and I think improved the picture. Samsung upgrade does NOT nullify the warranty by the way so no worries....just be careful and let the device complete the task before powering-down or disconnecting the flash memory device.reading.I am very happy with this TV. I would recommend it to anyone. The only real complaint I have is the limited number of HDMI jacks. There are only two. This, plus the component video input provide only three HD inputs. Too few if you have very many components. The big problem here is the packaging and shipping. The Samsung packaging only protects the ends of the TV. The screen is woefully vulnerable to impact damage with no protection other than a thin layer of cardboard. Combine this with the apes working at UPS and its a formula for trouble. If you remember the old American Touristor commercial with a gorilla beating the hell out of a suitcase, you have an idea of what my shipment went through. Needless to say, the screen was completely hammered. It looked like someone at UPS drop kicked it. I returned the damaged unit without replacement. I didn't wish to play UPS Russian Roulette a second time. I bought the same item at Sears on sale for about the same price. Being my own deliveryman, I refrained from kicking the box and the TV made it home intact. One good note, Amazon's return process was flawless, easy and my credit card was credited with the refund in one day. My complements to Amazon on this. Too bad Mighty Joe Young at UPS made the return necessary.
