I could not find a single scratch anywhere on the tablet.

Everyone gets scared with Refurbs? But Why? The manufacture personally inspects this item before it is shipped to me! About this item: For one the box is a brand new manufactured box. It does say remanufactured in small letters at the top, but was almost hidden! I really needed something that was on the go convenience that was a reasonable price (I cant afford and I-Pad)! But I really wanted my email and facebook at the tip of my hands (on a bigger screen than my phone) ;-). Someone told me about this item so I'm telling you! The connection was fast, screen is clear and the item is useful for multiple uses. Although it has very little internal memory there is a slot to add more memory. It is a bit heavier, but for the price, convenience and look the item was well worth the purchase. Also for the girls with nails, most touch screens make you use your finger tip, which with long nails can be hard, the Pandigital lets me use my nail, which helps me out a lot.
I looked around for a sub-$150 tablet for my 13 year old daughter. I did not want to spend $250 for a nook color (what she was wanting for her b-day) especially with this being her first time "owning" a rather significant piece of electronic equipment. I also wanted to be sure she would not grow tired of using her tablet and then just toss it to the side. Since I am not very familiar with the Android OS, I didn't want to get something we might get aggravated with and be out $$$. She is very familiar with the Apple I-Pad and Pod, but I told her not to expect that kind of performance out of this item. I think the people who give the bad reviews expect that kind of performance out of any tablet they try (unless it turns out to be a dud.) I can actually say I am pleasantly surprised by the item. Yes, there is a small learning curve since we were not familiar with the OS, but anyone with any kind of computer experience and the time to try and learn how the item operates will do well.

The tablet had enough juice in it when we unpacked it to get the home network setup (absolutely no problems finding the network and setting it up--reception is great throughout the house!) We then set up an account through B&N via the computer, let her look up a book to purchase, and then went to the tablet and used the B&N app to pull her book purchase up--no problems there either--downloaded in a few seconds!Reading text is adjustable and very clear on the tablet, and my daughter gets a kick out of the "turning" of the pages. The included internet browser gets the job done--nothing impressive there (but hey, it's not a laptop or desktop!) She was a little disappointed she couldn't get fruit ninja to work due to being Android 2.0, but she found another app like it, although it runs kinda choppy (no pun intended.)

Installed the Amazon App market, and it is much better than the SlideMe (which is included on the tablet). It is NOT a gaming powerhouse tablet, but she does not really play games on it a whole bunch, she uses it to read mostly. The battery lasts very well for her. I told her to make sure when she doesn't need the internet to download apps or books, she needs to keep wi-fi turned off to help save the battery. She doesn't stay on the tablet for hours on-end either, and we have the brightness turned down fairly low to help with power conservation, and it is still plenty bright.

Be sure to add an external SD card!!! The internal card does not have a whole lot of space left on it. The screen takes a bit of time to get use to, I still miss a few punches on the keyboard when trying to type on it. She has figured out how to change the background and download images for that. The speakers are really good considering the size of them, but you can get better sound with headphones. Included pictures we examined looked very good, color didn't seem to be off like on some tablets I have seen. Overall she loves the tablet and I am not aware of any major problems with the item as of yet. Even though the tablet is refurbished, I could not find a single scratch anywhere on the tablet.
