causing the humming noise from the subwoofer with the other user

These might not be on the higher end of the spectrum but they are HIGH QUALITY in construction and reproduces excellent sound! For the money, you can't get any better than this. The four small Satellites outputs crisp clear audio especially when watching movies, the Center Channel does an excellent job at delivering dialogues; the voices are soft-spoken and yet VERY natural, unlike the over-trebled or 'digitized' sound I've heard. Finally, the whole sound experience is balanced off by none other than the 50-watt down-firing Sub; the numbers might seemed a bit small in comparison but the monstrosity of the unit itself is very heavy. I turned the Low Pass Filter to 5:00 position (full), Phase switched to '0', the output Volume at 11:00 position. I have the power on Standby, so any triggering of low frequencies will produce anywhere from soft low-rumbles to full on depth atomic-like booms -- all of which is driven by a Denon AVR-2310ci; calibrated to the full extent of Audyssey with an average volume level at only 35%. That's all it needed to rock my living room.

Pros:
Solid Construction on all units
Came with mounting brackets, Satellites can swivel when mounted
Very natural sound reproduction (especially on the Center Channel)
Soft, tight and very rich Bass from Subwoofer.
Very affordable, great for someone started out experiencing Home Theater for the first time.

Cons:
No speaker wires included whatsoever.
Center Channel cradle is almost useless, the oval-shaped speaker can easily slide out of place, however, Polk also included a wall mount.
Speaker terminals are 'clipped' designed. The clips are VERY small and are hard to open therefore your fingers can get pretty sore after hooking up 10 terminals.I'd like to start by saying that I'm a movie and music freak, and am very happy with these. I powered mine with a Pioneer VSX-817V-K, 7.1ch @ 110w each (I don't remember the nominal wattage per channel) and it puts a smile on my face every time I listen to these two make sweet love to each other.

Tested out with Inception, Swordfish, Independence Day, and Terminator 2 / TRON Legacy soundtrack, Mozart's Requiem, Pearl Jam - Ten, ATB - Moovin Melodies, and Bob Marley - Dreams of Freedom. The speakers were very clear and the subwoofer was able to handle the low and high notes cleanly. the vocals sounded natural but you can tell that the tweeters are a little weak at high volumes. With the classical music, the different instruments were easily identifiable, and if you have a DSP, you get a great sense of space. I was a little concerned about cranking it up, but considering the surround speakers never got distorted, I was like a pig in s***. If you pay the extra money to watch a movie in IMAX because you want the sound so loud its borderline making you soil yourself, then you're gonna love these. The construction of all the components are fantastic, the speakers were solid, no rattling or buzzing coming from anywhere. The only complaint I have is that the subwoofer sometimes gets a bit overwhelmed if you go from something melodic to machine guns tearing down walls, but if you take the time to adjust the gain and crossover settings depending on what you're listening to, then you can avoid that. If you're like me and look at all the negative reviews first, then let me clarify a few things.

I dunno what may be causing the humming noise from the subwoofer with the other user, but if you run the subwoofer and wiring the way it should be (shielded signal cables / keep signal and power cables away from each other) then there is no issue. I'm sure most of the other owners have zero ambient noises coming from anything.
