I could go on and on about this camera.

I've been looking for a quality HD Camcorder for some time now. My Samsung Android phones took excellent HD video but it wasn't always practical for filming long or more important events. So, I decided to get a Samsung HD Camcorder at a budget cost. And let me tell you, budget cost MEANS budget performance. Not only was the thing very hard to auto focus, especially in the dark, but for long term filming, it would always create a new video file every 20 minutes and you would lose 5-6 minutes of video. I really wasn't happy with my first HD camera. Then the Sony HDRPJ260V comes a long, and oh boy, get ready for a wild ride.

The first thing I noticed was the quality build. This camera feels good in your hand. It is solid and easy to hold. The buttons are sturdy and the screen is easy to extract and it is firm.

The menus are very easy to navigate. In no time, I was able to set up to Full HD and start filming high quality video. When on lower settings, capturing pictures while making a video was seamless and the quality was quite good.

There are a lot of features on this camera. The least useful feature for me but may be for some, is the GPS for Geotagging your media. One of the coolest features was Closer Voice, where you can isolate a voice via face detection to cut out background noise. Sound recording is top quality with Dolby Digital 5.1 and I was very impressed that I could hear it in all of my channels with my sound system. You have internal storage but you can expand up to 64 GB with SD memory. VERY nice feature.

One of the most unique features is the projector, giving you the ability to project the video on a flat surface. To me, this is very retro and would be like watching home videos on the screen or wall with my family. My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves this option.

I can't help but be excited like Doc Brown in Back To The Future Movies when saw a video camera from the 80's : "A portable television studio. No wonder your president has to be an actor, he's gotta look good on television!"

Wow...I could go on and on about this camera. Having had experience with HD Camcorders and doing a lot of homework, I have to say this is the best HD Camcorder on the market.I received this camcorder yesterday. It has just been released, I was pondering buying the older HDRpj10v, as it was cheaper. But I am glad I got the newer model. It has a better zoom, and a slightly larger Sensor, and updated projector, to name a few improvements. The old projector was powered by a 7 lumen light, the new one is 15 lumens, more than twice the power. I took a short clip in my living room last night then turned off all the lights and projected it on a flat white ceiling, and it was absolutely brilliant. It was bright, and looked to be nearly HD quality. I am very impressed. the camera is slightly smaller than last years model, it is very intuitive to use. The touchscreen menu is very easy to use, and works well. I spent alot of time playing with the the older model at best buy playing with it, and this one just feels sturdier, and the screen is more responsive, the image stabilization is not the BOS system in the higher end model, but it seems improved over last year. THis model DOES shoot in 60p at 28fps, and it really looks fantastic. I think this is the best camera for the money.
