A very good device Kintrex IRT0421 Non-Contact Compare And Review

I work in a large supermarket where we are responsible for monitoring the temperatures of all the refrigerated cases and the freezer units. The thermometers that are built into the cases are not always reliable, as they are affected by things such as the air around them as well as product placed nearby. The laser thermometer is the preferred method for checking those cases that are in question as far as the holding temperature, and upon occasion we have checked the temperature of the actual product to ensure it is at the proper holding temperature.

This unit KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting is a wonderful product; easy to read display, as well as the ability to read an enormous range of both positive and negative temperatures - ideal for commercial use where there are both cooler units and freezer units.

The only thing that I would have wanted to see was an adjustable wrist strap included; this unit does not come with a wrist strap at all, although to its credit it does have a place to attach one. Not using a wrist strap is not wise due to the inevitable occurrences of the thermometer getting dropped onto a very hard tile-over-cement floor!

Overall, this unit is a very reliable one - I recommend it highly! I bought this infrared thermometer to take temperature readings of various parts of my home as part of an effort to balance heat output from a pellet stove.

The unit is fast and accurate and easy to use - just point and click and aim the red laser dot where you want to take the temperature.

The display is large and bright enough for me to read without my reading glasses - which is also a plus.

I measured the unit's accuracy by taking 'room temperature' readings of various surfaces that are temperature stable but made of different materials (metal, wood, plaster, etc.) - they all read the same temperature (no drafts or other heat sources were present).

I found this unit particularly helpful as I needed to take temperature readings high up in the air (15+ feet) in my home and I wasn't about to get out the extension ladder to do this. All I had to do was point the unit high up in the air and position the laser pointer on the surface I wanted to read.

The temperature readings I took actually made a huge difference in my ability to balance the heat output from my stove. Since you can't 'see' heat (I don't have infrared goggles), the readings I took allowed me to see where the heat was going and ended up saving me a lot of money as I was able to confirm that changes I made to my hot air system to distribute the heat were sufficient and didn't require me to put in extra room-to-room fans to distribute heat, which I had been planning to do.
