Excellent Charger to maintain batteries Review And Compare

The battery on my wife's Lexus went dead a few weeks ago, presumably due to an open door. It doesn't get driven much, so it sat for a few days before we found out. I jumpstarted it from my car, and it seemed OK, but the voltage was only a little over 12 volts, and the indicator on the battery always said it needed a charge. After reading a little on the web, I felt a charger was in order for us.

I looked at a nearby Sears, but their cheapest charger was more than this, and didn't shut off automatically. This one has now been connected for several days, and the battery indicator finally is indicating that it's charged, and the voltage is up to over 13 1/2 volts.

It's not exactly fast, but once the battery is charged it should do the job just fine for us. The wires are all pretty long, and since it's only less than one amp, an extension cord could be used, if needed.
I use this product on two of my cars that are only driven a few times a month. Before I had these chargers I would have to go out and crank the car and drive it at least once or twice a week to keep the battery from dying. I think I bought 3 batteries in one year because they kept going bad. I have these installed on the car with the charging lead "hardwired" in directly to the battery and coming out of the front grill area of the car. This enables the charger to be plugged up relatively easy. My wife drives one of the vehicles so this makes it a lot easier than hooking up the charger with the other supplied alligator clips. Since it comes with two leads; the alligator clips style and the kind you wire in, you can wire the one to your car and then use the other to charge any other batteries you need to charge. The great things about this charger is that it's small, not noisy like some of the others I have used, and it cuts itself off automatically when the battery is charged. Overall this brand of battery charger is the best I have seen; I have had one for 3 years with no problems whatsoever. I have owned a Battery Tender "plus" for many years, 15 at least. The plus has always worked, so I bought this one. I connected it to an Odyssey 680 AGM battery in my recently ridden BMW motorcycle. I got a red light, then a flashing green light about an hour later... then a solid green light by the next day.

With a solid green light I read 13.1 volts with a digital volt meter.

Mixed reviews here, but for the price it is a smart charger that works as advertised in my case.

Quik tip: always connect any charger to the battery first then connect to the wall outlet.

do the same in reverse when taking it off, remove wall power first, then disconnect the battery.
