Thermometer with Laser Targeting Review And Spec

One of the most useful gadgets I've ever bought for less than $50. More like a gun than a remote control, this is a great "man toy". Pull the trigger, aim the red LED dot, and you'll get a reliable temperature reading. From really cold to 932F hot.

I'm finally sure that my engine compartment is within spec. My kitchen freezer is a barely adequate 8.5F. When I boil water, the cupboard closest to the pot can reach a vitamin-pill-killing 86F. My BBQ temp guage is low by at least 20F. Thanks to this gadget, I have become the master of the temperature universe!

Women like it too. From a safe distance she can determine the exact temp of a fry pan or estimate how long it will take before a pot of water will start to boil.

Make Alton Brown proud. Buy one today! Bought this to figure out where my house is losing and gaining heat. Had it since May and have used it for every thing, literally. Body temp.(dogs, cats, mine, kids), cooking temps, wall temp, floor temps, roadway asphalt, roadway concrete, steel beam temps, and etc.
I am working on sealing up my house to find I need to add insulation too. Took it to work and measured it against calibrated thermometers to find it is with 1 or 2 degrees. Excellent for the small price I paid. Works best on opaque materials. Glass and water are not accurate. But the temperature of the container is accurate. Would have to buy another if I lost or damaged this one. Could have other features, but all I need or wanted was current measured temperature.
Love it and its red dot. Had it two weeks with initial use to find weak spots of insulation in outside walls of new home. This unit showed them extremely well. I waited till the sun had show on wall for few hours on these 100 degree Texas days. Used unit and rapidly (about 6 second for 8 ft horizontal sweep) could easily find the weak spots. Around every wall socket and wall switch were hot spots and in a few areas along floor and ceiling. I could focus around those areas and accurately measure the no insulation area and the blend of insulation vs none out to full insulation. The .1 degree resolution made it easy. When I pulled the wall plates off and stuck my hand in the Kintrex reading profile matched what I felt inside. While the absolute temperature accuracy is not that great it's Relative temperature accuracy is very good. In areas with no insulation vs full R19 insulation with outside temp 101 and thermostat set at 80 on I consistently measured around 15 to 17 degrees of temperature change on the inside walls (always checking on horizontal line at same distance from floor). After putting in additional insulation got it down to less than 2 degrees (wiring and electric box areas}. I am very happy with unit.
