Powerful & best Dust Emptying Design PHV1810 Vacuum

So far this is a little disappointing.
1)There are about 40 pages of instructions, which made me not even feel like using it. What kind of vacuum cleaner requires a whole book of instructions? By having so many pages of instructions, the manufacturer makes it hard to provide the basic instructions that the consumer does actually need. There are only one or two things you need to know, but they are buried in the giant instruction book. Finally my six year old son worked most of it out himself. I would prefer a one page checklist.
2)It is pretty heavy
3)I charged it overnight, but it then worked for only about a total of ten minutes before losing its power.

On balance, I wish I had not bought this. I did a extensive and exhausting research on vacuums before purchasing this one, figured I'd share it here:

1. Handheld vacuums cannot replace an upright vacuum. (unless you live in a 1 room studio) Pefect to clean off food crumbs in the couch, corners, etc so I don't have to drag the gigantic vacuum out.

2. To me, the Best use of this item is TO KILL BUGS! If you're terrified of bugs like I am, this product will save your life. I vacuum those little suckers up and suck a bit tea tree oil after, the spinning bin will distribute the oil evenly and kill the bugs.

3. The bagless 1-button dust empty design saved you from going near corpses of dead bugs--simply click a button and lean to empty the bin. (If you don't want to kill the bugs, you can let the bug free this way, outside your house of course)
Well designed. It can fold into a neat rectangular block for convenient storage,
and it does not have one of those bulky charging docks that you have to mount on the wall with molly-screws, etc.

First impression is that it has a very powerful suction, and its foldout feature allows easy access into hard-to-get corners and under furniture.

But let's be realistic: We have purchased this brand name vacuums before, and they all performed well at first. But because they all have NiCd batteries, they all come with their familiar "memory" characteristic. After several charges, batteries begin to have shorter and shorter cycles, util they give out completely. We found it costs more to replace a battery than just ditching the product and buying a new one.
Why can't the manufacturer come up with a Lithium-Ion battery that does not have a
memory? I know they cost more, but in the long run they are definitely worth the cost.
