I bought this particular receiver for my 85 year old mother. Her old "Scott" receiver finally bit the dust. She has a lot of vinyl records and I needed a receiver which I could connect a turn-table too and this one has phono outputs.

I had it shipped to her house and after I arrived I had it set up in about 15 minutes. I didn't even have to read the directions as it was pretty straightforward. I also connected a CD player and the receiver has plenty of outputs. It's kind of heavy but that wasn't a problem. After it was all connected I turned it on and *voila!* music! She's hard of hearing so I had to crank it up and it sounded great! I can't remember the size of the two speakers but they are probably around 25 years old, big (sit on the floor) and this receiver powered them just fine.

Mom can't quite understand how to work the radio....that could have been designed a lot more simply but I set it to her favorite station and she was fine. I did have to consult the directions to figure out how to use and preset radio stations. It was not intuitive at all.

Overall, it's a nice receiver. It's not what a true audiophile would buy, but it was a great replacement for a very old receiver.
