I wish Dirt Devil would make the dirt cup open from the bottom instead

I needed a small vacuum because I have very little carpet and a small house to begin with so this one seemed to fit the bill. Also, the reviews were mostly positive. I do have a couple of complaints about it though. #1. It comes with on board hose attachments EXCEPT for a place for the upholstery brush. I looked all over and there is no where to place it when it's not being used so now, I have to go find it in my closet when I need it. #2. The dirt cup is a big pain to empty. The filter gets in the way of the dirt and hair coming out on it's own so I end up having to reach up and grab it out with my fingers to dislodge it from the filter. Kind of gross. I have one short haired cat and his fur does get on things. This vacuum does an OK job of picking up the fur, but not the best. My previous Eureka Optima did a better job and the only reason I replaced it because after 5 years, it finally died and I couldn't find another Optima at the time. On the positive side, this vacuum has a couple things I do like: #1. The telescoping handle makes it easy for me to store in small spaces and easy for my 8 year old to use as well. #2. It has a longer cord than my Eureka did so it's more convenient to vacuum and I don't have to move the plug as much to get larger areas. I wish Dirt Devil would make the dirt cup open from the bottom instead of the top to make emptying it easier and possibly would help with the dirt getting stuck around the filter. I think I'll just keep using it until I get fed up with the features it's missing and another one I prefer goes on sale. For the low price it does a decent job for a very basic vacuum.I just bought this product and figured I should leave a review. I honestly never leave reviews but I count on them when making a purchase so figured I would leave it for something like this. The vacuum is small/lightweight and loud like people have said. (I dont mind the noise - as long at it works) It works really well for the price. I just got it today but did vacuum the house and looks much better than the old vacuum we had. I saw a few 5 stars and again.. for the price it works really well but there were a couple things I don't love about it - the cord/toos to use on the steps/corners/couches is really short -- not too big of a deal since its so light, but it could be longer. - The canister fills up very fast -- again I don't mind it as we have quite a bit of wood flooring but It would not be something I would consider if I had a larger house with all carpet. It works just fine for my 700-900 sq ft of carpet, but it was full and needed to be emptied after that. Other than that - the item works great and the shipping was amazing -- ordered it on Monday and received it on Wednesday with free shipping through amazon.
