2012 Review LightInTheBox Modern Single Handle Waterfall Bathroom

I bought one of these faucets directly from LITB's website over a year ago. I know exactly what the other reviewers are referring to with installing this faucet. It is a Chinese-made European fixture using non-standard US sized pipe threads. Weird eh? This uses 1/2" threaded water supply hoses. Most every US home I've ever been in has 3/8" shutoff valve threads, although you can buy 1/2" threaded shutoff valves for about $7 at any big-box hardware store. Might be cheaper to go that route rather than buying new stainless steel hoses. The ones provided with this fixture are about 18" long which may be too shore for some people, and you can't exactly buy a longer one. My shut-off valves are the standard 3/8", so what I did was bought some PEX plastic pipe and used compression fittings to extend the length of my hoses so I could fit this faucet. It cost me about 12 extra dollars at the hardware store but works fine so far. As far as the large-diameter hole you need to fit this faucet, keep in mind it is meant for European bathroom fixtures. I used an IKEA vanity and it fit the hole perfect. Standard American 3-hole vanity tops will likely need to have their middle hole drilled out larger to fit this thing, plus you'll need a cover plate to cover the other 2 holes. The main issue I have with this faucet is that they didn't use glass for the clear part. It is plexi and looks like total crap after a year if you have hard water. The water around me is pretty bad, tons of iron & calcium deposits. My faucet now has permanent stains on the plexi & looks crappy. It no longer looks impressive to guests although the LED part of it still works fine & I never had the problem with the LED's staying on after you shut the water off. And it is indeed loud when you turn it on and it spews out water pretty fast. I have a shallow vanity and the water can actually overshoot the lip of the sink if you pull it on too fast. Also, it requires 4 AAA batteries and you'll have to figure out where to mount the battery pack. I found placing it on top of the cross-beam that you use to mount the vanity to the studs works good as it sits on it nicely & is completely out of sight. If you have a pedestal you'll have to tape it or use a more creative method. Also worth noting...the included instructions are laughably useless. They send the same instructions with all of their bath fixtures & only dedicate a page to each type of faucet they sell. (i also own LITB's bathtub fixture & shower head). Other than the water supply hookup & making sure the diameter of your hole is big enough..its pretty simple to install & instructions really aren't necessary.
