Be sure to also get the SANYO rechargable batteries

We have used this every day for a couple of months (same batteries). I am now purchasing a second one as my wife has taken over this one. This should be called a spot light not a flashlight. It is amazing. I can clearly see a spotlight on a large tree from 500 ft away.

We live out in the country and have gone through/tried many flashlights. Either they are too big or too cheaply made for everyday use. We didn't want to spend a fortune so I gave this one a shot.

Before purchasing, I read the reviews and thought - ok, people like this - but since we have been using it - for the price this light is over the top. It is light, easy to hold, easy to turn on and off.

The batteries aren't put in as easy as others - but I like them being more secure than the flashlights I have to jiggle to get the beam to work because the batteries are loose.

ONLY CAUTION - don't buy this if you need multiple levels/controls of brightness - But I have found it works great from a few feet to a few hundred feet - it's just can't be turned down if you want a minimum "footprint".

Be sure to also get the SANYO rechargable batteries - excellent run time.Pros: First of all-I really like the performance of this flashlight. IT IS bright. Really bright. I have a few flashlights, tactical ones. And even some of them state 180 lumens they are not as bright as this one. Plus, I was able to pool out 12 Hours!!! of working time with my 2700MAh SONY rechargables and could use it even longer. Construction of this flashlight is very simple and it seems to be durable enough for household and outdoor use. To change batteries you just need to unscrew the end cap. Don't be afraid to use some extra force. It is tight. MAIN REASON why I bougt this flashlight-it uses 4 AA batteries. That means it will last long enough+AA rechagables are cheap. You will have to buy just one set of AA (4+charger) and you have an amasing rechargable flashlight with 12+ Hours of usable light!!!
Cons: Construction of this flashlight is very simple/cheap. You can easily twist it. Protective rubber was not perfectly glued to the body. This light is NOT WATERPROOF by any means. But it should! How much does it cost to add a simple bid of silicon glue to the edge? Inside you won't find any control boards. Just LED emitter, switch and resistor. That's it. And because of this fact I would expect this light to be cheaper. It should cost like around $10-$15 top. It would be $20 flashlight if it was waterproof. Be carefull with end cap! Little battery bridge over there is attached to the cap with tiny screw! Mine almost fell off after only 4-5 battery changes. Solution? Just replace that screw with bigger one and add a small washer. For some reason on second set of batteries mine started smoking! You could smell melted plastic. This is due to unregulated circuit, but it might be just a manufacturer defect. When changing battery it REALLY hard to see the polarity marks on the body. Just use your sharpie to make it stand out. Batteries should have some kind of separating/holding wall between two sets of AA's.
Other: Even with all those cons, I would buy it again. Just remember what needs to be improved/changed to get the most out of this flashlight and you can get a lot out of it. Price around $15 would be a golden spot.
