I am a flashlite freak.I own at least 30 LED lights

I carry a Mini Maglite on my belt every waking hour. But when I walk the dog late at night, I carry the Dorcy.

The Dorcy doesn't look like an expensive flashlight. It's plastic, not metal. It doesn't fit in my hand as well as a round light -- the handle is a little bit square on one side. But it shines a spot WAY down the trail, and the area around the spot is broad and uniformly lit.

On the trail I aim it as I would a headlight, so the spot is way out front and the remaining light covers everything in front of me. Actually, on a dark night if I shine the spot too close in front of me it is so bright that it is distracting.

If I am on a multi-mile walk late at night, I often carry both of my Dorcys. I seldom use them both at once, but if I want to check out a critter making scary noises I shine both beams out into the night. The effect is very close to being in a car with headlights on.

And the square handle -- well, I hold the light upside down (with the switch facing the ground) so the part that is more round fits my hand a little better.Light quit and went to change batteries and the bottom spring popped off rendering this light unusable. Lasted 8 months but only 2 battery changes.

Strong points of this light:
1) excellent range for the price
2) light and easy for lady or child to handle
3) nice size

Weak points:
1) eats batteries, better plan on using rechargable batteries
2) flimsy construction twists and exposes cracks in case which is light plastic and reminds me of a dollar store casing.
3) worth the cost if you need a light weight powerful light
4) non adjustable beam just one size and pattern of light path

If you can handle the extra weight of a flashlight, buy a Maglight 3 D cell LED model, Which shines 364 meters, is adjustable for beam, and is under rated at 131 Lumens and lasts 79 hours on 3 D cells. It also comes in package with small 2 AA cell light that is adjustable with holster and at 69 lumens lasts 31 hours, shows 101 meters and costs $29.99 for the pair IMHO THE BEST LIGHTS FOR THE MONEY ON THE MARKET.
