For example, there are people who are allergic to certain foods which have some nutrients required in the body. For such people, these supplements come in quite handy. Notably, excessive or inappropriate use of these supplements can have negative health effects. Use of Antioxidants Generally speaking, antioxidants are substances capable of neutralizing harmful compounds and counteracting the damaging physiological process of oxidation in animal tissue. It is based on this reason that they can help in the increase of energy in the body, slowing aging and assisting in weight loss, among many other uses. There are many sources of antioxidants, but the most abundant class is fruits. Drinking a glass of wine per day is an example of an oxidant-rich drink that slows aging. If you are not a fan of wine, then you can opt for eating five grapes every day. A piece of dark chocolate is also suggested to be a rich source of antioxidant that benefits the heart and arteries just like cocoa.
