Anyway, I bought this for mid double-digits, and 1/2 what Amazon is selling it for as I write this. And I look back and just say I should have bought something else. The high reviews and ranking aren't justified. This might be okay for someone just occasionally grilling vegetables or panini, but it really doesn't seem well-suited for regular use, and especially not for things like meats that actually put out fat/grease. This product is reviewed way too highly. And unless you're ready to cough up return shipping when the plates fail... don't hold your breath on the warranty being worth anything, practically speaking. I can't recommend this for regular use.You can find cheaper electric grills/griddles, but I doubt that you will find a better one. The versatility alone sets this appliance apart from the George Foreman grills and the other competors too. The Griddler heats evenly and the temperature can be adjusted accurately. The Panini baking feature works perfectly. The flat griddle plates do a great job with pancakes and eggs. I bought the additional waffle plates for my Griddler and they round out the list of capabilities built into this appliance. It is good looking if you plan to display it on your kitchen counter. This thing is a snap to clean as long as one does not use it with a lot of greasy or sloppy food. Grease is a cooking mess no matter what appliance has to deal with it. The Griddler does as well with fat meat as any of the others, but don't expect miracles. Frankly, I think the Cuisinart Griddle is the best kitchen device of its kind out there. And no, I do not work for Cuisinart.I've only had it a few months and haven't used it that often. The bottom plate no longer matches the heat on the upper plate, the oil doesn't drain properly, so I have to manually adjust the height of the front of grill. This will allow the grease to drain to the rear. I can't use a high temperature or the top plate will buckle loose. Very disappointed.
