Small Sony speakers Good Enough!

I got a new TV and a new receiver and quickly realized that my old RCA satellite speakers weren't going to cut it any more.

So I ordered a Klipsch C-1 Synergy center channel and decided to go with these Sony SS-B1000s as the front left and right speakers based on all of the great reviews here on Amazon. They came quickly (as always) and I got them out of the package and set up right away.

I have to say, I'm absolutely blown away. I can't believe how great they sound for the price that they cost. I was expecting them to sound better than my old satellite speakers (which didn't have any tweeters, only paper cones) but I had no idea how awesome these would sound.

I did some tweaking to the settings on the receiver and then mounted the speakers to some stands and got them set up where I wanted them, and I have to say that my sound tests are all coming back great. I have a few movies that I watch to see what speakers sound like, and each one of them has sounded simply amazing with these new speakers.

Do they compare to a $700 set of Klipsch speakers?? Probably not...but for someone on a budget who is looking to improve the sound of an old set of speakers or looking to add a receiver to a TV, I really think you can't go wrong with these. They are a spectacular value!!! Just purchased and set up a 5.1 living room theater / music system with these little speakers as the left & right front and L / R surrounds. For $50 per pair, they sound surprisingly good. I know good sound. I'm an experienced musician. I used to be an audio nut. Owned expensive speakers made by boutique small shops.

My wife did not accept the idea that our new living room sound system was going to be populated with 4 PSB Stratus gold Towers, plus the Big PSB center channel speaker below the 47 inch LCD monitor, so I bought the Sony little speakers here, along with the CN 5000 center channel and the 12 inch Sony Subwoofer. I'm breaking them in right now with various rock and folk recordings. I can live with the sonics. The speakers are clear voiced, have no annoying dips or peaks in the audio spectrum.
