Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System review 2012

I was quite excited to try this product. I had a couple of issues, however, when I opened the box. There is no package insert that describes how to use the product or its features so the buyer will need to refer to the limited instructions on the box itself at first. In addition, getting the battery cover off to insert the 2 AA batteries (included) was a bit of a trial and could be difficult for someone without good grip strength. Indeed, I was a bit uncertain initially of where the batteries went because there was no indication on the device of where to open! Once set up, however, I was ready to try it. I did not use in the shower but at the sink so can't attest to it being waterproof.

This item does a great job on my fairly dry and sensitive skin. Designed with an effective 2-speed rotating system, this device delivers deep cleansing and gentle exfoliation. I used Oil of Olay maximum moisture bar soap with shea butter with the very soft (replaceable) round brush and it removed all my makeup, including my water-proof mascara. Instructions say not to use around the eye area, but I did anyway. It left my skin very soft and receptive to the heavier moisturizing lotion I use at night.

I was recommended by my Esthetician to get the Clarisonic Pro from her dermatology office ($200) Yikes! I have heard many great reviews of the product but could not bear the thought of the expense even though I would have gotten a complementary $100 worth of microdermabrasion from her if I got it. I said I had to think about it and immediately went on Amazon to see how much of a better price I could it. On here I ended up finding the Olay Pro-X Cleansing system and all of the positive reviews. For $30 I decided that even if it was a piece of crap, it was worth a shot. I do not use it with the included Olay cleanser, I instead use it with my regular Decleor Skin Brightening Cleanser. I use it every night before bed and almost immediately my skin has had more of a glowing even tone. I get regular facial peels and it seems as though I benefit more from the peels now because of my better nightly regime including this device. Even my Esthetician has been commenting on how great my skin looks. I feel as though I must get my makeup and dirt out of my pores better and the stimulation of the rotating brush head must be very beneficial. I recommend everyone to try this product especially if you are debating between this and Clarisonic. I am sure the Clarisonic is worth every penny as the reviews imply, however I was excited to try something similar for a much smaller price. This may sound stupid but I kind of look forward to washing my face and don't put it off anymore or "forget" to do it which also must be benefitting my skin. Remember to always wear a sunscreen! I am only 32 and have been working for the past few years to try and reverse the sun damage on my face.
